Established in 1984, the Council was founded as part of the merger of the regional councils of Hadar Hasharon and Hasharon Hatzfoni that were established in the early 50s.
Jurisdiction area: 57,000 dunams (57 sq. km)
Population: roughly 22000 residents in 18 settlements: 3 communal settlements, 2 cooperative settlements and the remaining population in workers’ moshavim (cooperative settlements).
The Council settlements are characterized by their heterogeneity – veteran and young settlements and a mixed population
Origin of the Council’s name: its location, Lev Hasharon, the center of the Sharon region.
