Emek Hamaayanot extends from the Jordan Valley in the north to Nahal Bazak in the south, from the Gilboa in the west, to the Jordan River in the east; it is one of Israel's most unique and beautiful gems of nature.
The plentiful springs (about 40), have brought settlers to the Valley throughout the course of human history.
The Valley's current population stands at 12,500 residents who live in mutual respect and tolerance in 24 settlements, 16 of which are kibbutzim (6 of which are religious kibbutzim), 6 moshavim (cooperative settlements), one mosahva (agricultural colony) and a village for the rehabilitation of victims of drug and alcohol abuse.
